Reinventing Retro

Going retro doesn’t mean you have to go all Foxy Cleopatra on us, babe. Beyonce is the only one who can pull that off. For the rest of us mere mortals, the addition of a wooden heel will do. Throw in a platform and some studs for good measure and suddenly you’re wearing clogs. Oh look at you, you retro babe.

But clogs don’t mean you’re restricted to the boho chic style that you’d usually channel with these babies. We’re reinventing the look by pairing clogs to your every day outfit.

Think denim, and lot’s of it. Think printed tees and button up shirts. Think sleek buns and dark sunglasses.

Because we’re turning a retro revival into a modern classic.

You seem confused, babe. Don’t worry, well explain.

Play on the trend of clashing prints with Anna in leopard. Cuff your boys ripped jeans and tie a camo print shirt around those hips. Finish the look with a crisp white tee and delicate gold accessories. See? It’s not too hard.

Channel the 60’s with a mod shirt in black and white, keep it current with transparent sleeves that work back with Anni’s block colouring. Camel coloured leather and high waisted denim gives a nod to the 70’s while the straight cut reminds you that it’s 2014.

You’re not one to forget your dark side, are you? Pair a sleeveless plaid shirt with your favourite black jeans for a Daisy Duke gone bad look that we’ll have him suffering from a severe case of whip lash. Hope gives a little lift with her mid heel, while a sleek top knot and dark lips lets everyone know you mean business.

Wide leg denim hints at the 70’s without taking it too far, while Anita gives the height you’ll need to pull off the length of those jeans. A camel coloured trench works back the shades of blue and keeps the colour palette in neutral territory.

Oh, and did we mention how comfortable clogs are?
