A brief lesson on style

As you know babes, we keep our ear to the floor on what’s hot and what’s not. We’re watching all the stars and their stylists for a little bit of inspiration, whilst keeping tabs on the latest looks coming from the runways around the world.

You can just imagine how much fun we have at Fashion Week, babes.

But whilst we are pinning and scrapbooking our favourite looks from this delicious autumn/winter season, we’re also looking at how to spin it.

What do you mean by spin? We hear you ask.

Well, babes, it’s great to gather ideas on what to wear by perving on all our favourite style icons and fashionistas. But when it comes down to it, style is all about independence. A.K.A. The spin.

Style is not about copying. It’s about watching our fellow beautiful goddesses and becoming inspired to seek our own look and find our own identity through the way we dress.

We’re not we saying we would turn down the opportunity to own everything in Olivia Palermo and Jennifer Lawrence’s wardrobes – because they’re clothes, and we would never say no to clothes– we’re just saying that style is all about making fashion work for you.

After all, each of us are extraordinarily different – in body, mood and life – so it’s only natural that we all have our own unique tastes.

Let’s look at four lovely ladies who show us how it’s done.

Despite the white shirt being one of the most common pieces you’d find in a girl’s wardrobe, this sassy blonde makes it her own by pairing it with a pair of print shorts and some well thought out accessories. The black hat, belt, bangle and ankle strap heel – like Alto – gently pair up to give her outfit and look of coordination and balance.

A black leather jacket is a well loved wardrobe staple, which usually means there are a lot of people wearing it. This ocean goddess shows how to keep it fresh though, she mixes it with a maxi skirt and leather accessories to match. Try something like Fink to finish the look.

We don’t blame you for wanting to ditch the black suit jacket the second you get home from your 9-5. But just before you bin it, take a glance at this bombshell. Simply by pairing it with some sequin NSFW short shorts and a pressed shirt, she keeps her outfit a standout in the crowd. Keep it stylish with Sam in black.

Whoever invented the white tee needs a seriously big thankyou cocktail or chocolate cake. Most of us would be completely stranded without it. This beauty shows us how to breathe new life into the classic tee with some careful colour coordination; note the matching jacket to heels, and bag to pants. Pick a shoe that’s easy to accessorise with, like Jess in nude and gold.
